Meeting in country initially to scope sites and plan regarding control sites etc. Minimum of 3 indepth surveys per country, possibly 4. Either will survey one indepth per site at three sites per country (2 impacted, one control). However, if no suitable controls found then they will two indepths at two sites per country (impacted only). Soils/sediments as they go. Two sites planned in Tonga- one large mangrove site with varying levels of plastic pollution, Ha’apai island has a dump site with one side of the island which may act as a control. For Vanuatu and Samoa- two rough sites defined for Vanuatu, will work with them to help plan the sampling strategy for Samoa for when those sites are agreed. We have given them enough ReGen kits to do one round of sediments/soils per country (either 6 + 6 per site – impacted vs control, or 9 + 3).
